Oh gosh, WHAT HAVE WE DONE?
Well it isn't like the connection between Andrew Lloyd Webber's masterpiece and Sonic characters hasn't been done before. But we've searched DeviantArt several times and haven't found a single work casting Amy as the Phantom. Usually it's Shadow, so there.
Amy is the most obvious character to cast as the Phantom, as she and the Phantom have one big thing in common: they are psychotically in love with another major character. The only problem, obviously, is the gender swap. But we don't care, because this isn't meant to be taken seriously anyway.
So Amy Rose is Erik, the Phantom of the new Mobotropolis Opera. (S)He is gaga for the new soprano, Christine Daae, but sadly, Christine is more interested in the new viscount, Raoul. As the love triangle in Archie Comics involves Amy and Sally fighting over Sonic, we simply transferred that to Webber's work. The gender swap is no big deal for Sally as Raoul, or Amy (who I think looks really good in the Phantom's get-up), but I do feel some compunctions for forcing Sonic into this incredibly awkward situation.
We don't remember which of us came up with this first, so consider it a collaborative effort. As usual, my brother drew it and I GIMPed it. If you actually read all of the fake legal garbage at the bottom of the poster, congrats. Here's hoping it made you laugh.
P.S. Just going to ask: can any of you imagine Amy singing "Music of the Night"? We need to see that.
