The Overlord of Sorrow was dead. The Mobians did not truly appreciate what this meant to the Coalition empire. In the eyes of the "graysuits," the Overlords were immortal, all-powerful, godlike; the idea that a Mobian, let alone Cyber, a roboticized Mobian, had murdered one was unthinkable. Sorrow's empire reeled from the shock of this disaster. Amongst the ranks there was utter chaos: some of the graysuits threw down their arms and fled; others, insane with rage, charges the ranks of the Mobian alliance, hoping to take as many of the "vermin" as they could with them; commanders were helpless to hold their units together. Archgeneral Jamison, Sorrow's second-in-command, was beside himself, choked with fury at what the Mobians had done, but also trembling at the thought that even as advanced as the Coalition was, the Mobians might still prove a match for them. Nothing like this had happened before; no one knew what to do next.
But that didn't matter to the Overlord of Chaos. Upon hearing that Sorrow had been murdered, in a frenzy Chaos decided to take matters into his own hands. He would paint Mobius red with the blood of its people, he declared, and rallying all of his soldiers together, regardless of what they were doing at the time, he stormed Mobius one morning, his armies arriving so swiftly and unexpectedly that not even their fellow Coalitionaries were ready for them.
On that particular morning, Knuckles and Julie-Su had been assigned to plunder a train heading through the Kingdom of Acorn to one of Eggman's strongholds. The train was loaded with Coalition gear and POWs that Eggman had managed to salvage, and the Council of Acorn refused to allow Eggman to get his hands on any of these dangerous supplies. The train was guarded, of course, by dozens of Dark Egg Legionnaires, nothing that Knuckles and Julie-Su hadn't dealt with in the past. But suddenly, just as the train turned around a bend, as Knux and Julie were about to engage the Legionaries, the sky roared, and from seemingly nowhere a platoon of Chaos' Shock Troopers poured from above, screaming like banshees. Startled, the Legionnaires panicked and broke formation; the last mistake they ever made, as the Shock Troopers rushed them and the two forces tore each other apart. The two Freedom Fighters were not so easily overcome, at least, and managed to throw most of the graysuits from the train and avoided most of the carnage by going to the roof. Unfortunately they did not fair any better once there, as a Coalition Berserker towered before them, challenging them. This fight would go on for much longer, as Berserkers are more heavily armed, armored and psychotic then basic Shock Troopers, which was well noticed once Knuckles along with Julie exchanged blows with the behemoth.
After a few minutes of the conflict, Knuckles got the upper hand and uppercut the beast several train cars down. As the Berserker started to stand and as Knuckles and Julie-Su charged to take him out, the train shook violently as an explosion came from within. Knuckles stumbled and fell on his back and Julie-Su fell to her knees. The Berserker, however, seemed to be revived by the fire and smoke that was now spilling out of the very car they stood on. Julie-Su went to Knuckles side to help him as the Berserker came towards them, ready for another round.
This fight would end just as suddenly as it started, as the train entered a tunnel. Knuckles and Julie-Su, being small Mobians, managed to lay low and ride it out with no harm. The Berserker did not fair to well against the incoming cliff wall and slammed into it with lethal force.

Well this story is longer then expected. I hope it was entertaining. ...I need to work on my writing skills for action scenes. If you didn't enjoy the story I hope you at least enjoyed the picture itself. ^_^'
I thought of this on my way back from work one night and sketched it as soon as I got home. ...Sadly it isn't as good as it was in my head, but I'm still learning.
